ARA-style (political) speed dating

Speed dating is an organized social activity in which all participants individually converse with potential partners. It is basically aimed at encouraging people to meet a large number of new people over a short period of time.

Speed-dating ARA-style was an interactive event for women* on the 7th of March 2018 to commemorate International Women’s Day.

ARA-style speed dating is similar to the original definition and is about encouraging people to meet new people – but with a political flair. Other women* tend to understand the lives and struggles of Black African lesbian*s living in Austria better when we talk with one another.

The event sparked political discussions and was generally all about fun, creating empathy and friendship, solidarity and awareness of one’s privileges.
